The2024–25 season was the 93rd season in the history ofWigan Athletic Football Club, and their second consecutive season inLeague One. In addition to thedomestic league, the club also participated in theFA Cup, theEFL Cup, and theEFL Trophy.

The 2024/25 season was also the first season in which Wigan, were free from the transfer embargo that was placed upon the club by theEnglish Football League, despite Mike Danson's takeover of the club at the start of the 2023/24 campaign.

Pre-season and friendlies

On 16 May, Wigan announced their first three pre-season friendlies, againstAccrington Stanley,Chorley andBlackburn Rovers.[57] Four days later, theLatics confirmed a pre-season training camp in Hungary.[58] A fourth friendly was added on 28 May, versusAFC Fylde.[59] A further two were later confirmed by the club, versusTranmere Rovers andBarrow.[60]
