The2024–25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague was the 25th season of the modern era of theEuroLeague, and the 15th under the titlesponsorship ofTurkish Airlines. Including the competition's previous incarnation as theFIBA Europe Champions Cup, this is the 68th season of the premier basketball competition for European men's clubs. The season began on 3 October 2024 and ended on 25 May 2025 with the Final Four.[1] The Final Four was hosted byEtihad Arena inAbu Dhabi, the capital of theUnited Arab Emirates, which marks the first time in European basketball history that the game is played outside of the continent in 21 years, after the 2004 Final Four in Tel Aviv, Israel.[2]

For the fourth straight season,CSKA Moscow had their EuroLeague license rescinded following theRussian invasion of Ukraine.[3] Additionally, for the second consecutive season due to thewar in Gaza, Maccabi Tel Aviv played abroad during the season, principally atAleksandar Nikolic Hall in Belgrade; the majority of games were playedbehind closed doors.

This will be the second straight season under the new format with the play-in tournament for seventh- to tenth-placed teams in the regular season.

Panathinaikos are the defending champions, but were eliminated in the semi-finals byFenerbahçe in the semifinal.[4] Fenerbahçe went on to win its first title in 8 years, after beating first-time finalistsMonaco in the championship game.[5]

Play-in

[edit]
Main article:2025 EuroLeague Play-in

Under the new format, the 7th to 10th-ranked teams faced each other in the play-in. Each game is hosted by the team with the higher regular season record. The format was similar to the first two rounds of thePage–McIntyre system for a four-team playoff that was identical to that of theNBA play-in tournament. First, the 7th seed will host the 8th seed, with the winner advancing to theplayoffs as the 7th seed; likewise the 9th seed will host the 10th seed, with the loser eliminated. Then theloser of the 7-v-8 game will host thewinner of the 9-v-10 game, with the winner of that game getting the final playoff spot, as the 8th seed.
