The2023 Cape Verdean Football Championships was a season of top-flight football inCape Verde.
The championship final match betweenGD Palmeira and Académica do Mindelo was the second straight year both teams appeared in the final, and featured two teams from the island of Sal for only the third time ever.[1]GD Palmeira won their first ever championship after defeating Académica 7:6 on penalties after playing to a 1–1 draw. Latche scored a free kick for Palmeiras in the 89th minute to send the match to penalty kicks.[2][3] The final was played on the island of Maio.[4]
The national stage of the competition featured a group stage followed by a semi-final. Mindelense qualified for the finals after only five matches out of group A. They were joined by the two finalists and Vulcânico from Group B, who were the best runners-up with 11 points.[4]
Cape Verde did not send any teams to either of the 2023–24 African club cup competitions.
