The2023Campeonato Brasileiro Série B (officially theBrasileirão Série B Betano 2023 for sponsorship reasons)[1] was a football competition held in Brazil, equivalent to the second division. The competition began on 14 April and ended on 25 November.[2]

Twenty teams competed in the tournament, twelve returning from the2022 season, four promoted from the2022 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C (ABC,Botafogo-SP,Mirassol andVitória),[3] and four relegated from the2022 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A (Atlético Goianiense,Avaí,Ceará andJuventude).[4]

The top four teams were promoted to the2024 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.Vitória became the first club to be promoted on 12 November 2023 after a 2–1 win against Novorizontino.[5]Criciúma were promoted on 18 November 2023,[6] andJuventude andAtlético Goianiense were promoted on 25 November 2023.[7][8]

ABC,Londrina,Sampaio Corrêa andTombense were relegated to the2024 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C.[9]
