The2022 Supercopa do Brasil (officially theSupercopaKia 2022 for sponsorship reasons)[1] was the fifth edition ofSupercopa do Brasil, an annual football match played between the champions of theCampeonato Brasileiro Série A andCopa do Brasil.
The match was played on 20 February 2022 betweenAtlético Mineiro, winners of the2021 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and the2021 Copa do Brasil andFlamengo, runners-up of the2021 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.[2]
On 26 January 2022, theFederação de Futebol do Distrito Federal announced that the match would be hosted atArena BRB Mané Garrincha inBrasília,[3] however one day later the Governo doDistrito Federal banned fans from venues in the state following the spread of theCOVID-19.[4] Due to this inconvenience, on 8 February 2022,CBF decided to move the match toArena Pantanal inCuiabá.[5]
Tied 2–2, Atlético Mineiro won 8–7 on penalties to win their first title in the tournament.[6]
