The2022 California Attorney General election was held on November 8, 2022, to elect theAttorney General ofCalifornia. IncumbentDemocratic Attorney GeneralRob Bonta was appointed to the office on April 23, 2021, following the resignation ofXavier Becerra to become theU.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services.[1][2] Bonta won a full term.[3]

A primary election took place on June 7, 2022.[4] Under California law, all candidates appear on the same ballot under anonpartisan blanket primary, with the top two finishers advancing to the general election.
