The2021–22 Utah State Aggies men's basketball team representedUtah State University in the2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Aggies, led by first-year head coachRyan Odom, played their home games at theSmith Spectrum inLogan, Utah as members of theMountain West Conference.

Previous season

In a season limited due to the ongoingCOVID-19 pandemic, theAggies finished the2020–21 season 20–9, 15–4 inMountain West play, to finish in second place. In theMountain West tournament, they defeatedUNLV[1] andColorado State[2] before losing toSan Diego State in the championship game.[3] They received an at-large bid to theNCAA tournament as the No. 11 seed in the South region, where they lost toTexas Tech in the first round.[4]

Following the season, head coachCraig Smith left the school to accept the head-coaching position atUtah.[5] Shortly thereafter, the school namedUMBC head coach Ryan Odom the team's new head coach.[6]
