With the victory, Alex Rigsby became the first American-born goaltender to win an Olympic Gold Medal (2018), IIHF World Championship (2017), and a Clarkson Cup championship.Venla Hovi becomes the first player from Finland to win the Clarkson Cup, while Aina Mizukami is the third player from Japan to have won. As a side note, the first two Japanese players to have won,Kanae Aoki andAina Takeuchi were part of Calgary's first Clarkson Cup win, back in 2016.
