The2018–19 St. John's Red Storm men's basketball team representedSt. John's University during the2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were coached byalumnus andNaismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame memberChris Mullin, in his fourth year at the school. They played their home games atCarnesecca Arena andMadison Square Garden as members of theBig East Conference. They finished the season 21–13, 8–10 inBig East Play to finish in seventh place. They defeatedDePaul in the first round of theBig East tournament before losingMarquette in the quarter-finals. They received an at-large bid to theNCAA tournament as an 11th seed. However, they lost to fellow 11th seedArizona State at the First Four.

On April 9, 2019, head coach Chris Mullin resigned after four seasons.[1] On April 19, the school announced it had hired formerArkansas head coachMike Anderson as the team's new coach.[2]

TheRed Storm finished the2017–18 season with a record of 16–17, 4–14 inBig East play to finish in ninth place in the conference. They defeatedGeorgetown in the first round of theBig East tournament before losing toXavier in the quarterfinals.[3][4]
