The match was played atChongqing Olympic Sports Center on 25 February 2017, and contested byleague andcupdouble winnersGuangzhou Evergrande Taobao and league runners-upJiangsu Suning.[2] Guangzhou Evergrande won the match 1–0 with a goal fromAlan Carvalho.[3] It was Guangzhou Evergrande's third outright victory in the Chinese FA Super Cup, drawing level withDalian Shide andShanghai Shenhua.[4]
