The2017–18 WHL season was the 52nd season of theWestern Hockey League (WHL). The regular season began on September 22, 2017, and ended on March 18, 2018. TheMoose Jaw Warriors finished the season with the league's best record.[1] The playoffs began on March 22, 2018, and ended on May 13; the winning team, theSwift Current Broncos, were awarded theEd Chynoweth Cup and a berth in the2018 Memorial Cup tournament, held at theBrandt Centre inRegina, Saskatchewan from May 18 to 27, 2018.[2][3] TheRegina Pats automatically qualified for the tournament as hosts.
