The2012 Washington Public Lands Commissioner election was held on November 6, 2012, to elect theWashington Public Lands Commissioner, concurrently with the2012 U.S. presidential election, as well aselections to theU.S. Senate and variousstate and local elections, including forU.S. House andgovernor of Washington.
IncumbentDemocratic Public Lands CommissionerPeter J. Goldmark was re-elected to a second term, defeatingRepublicanClint Didier in a landslide.[1]
Golmark was elected in2008, defeating then-incumbent public lands commissionerDoug Sutherland.[2] He ran for re-election to a second term in office.[3]
Washington is one of two states that holds atop-two primary, meaning that all candidates are listed on the same ballot regardless of party affiliation, and the top two move on to the general election.
