TheKansas City Royals'season of 2012 was the 44th for the Royals franchise. The Royals hosted the83rd MLB All-Star Game on July 10 atKauffman Stadium, where the team played its 40th season of home games. The Royals finished 72–90, third place in theAmerican League Central. The Royals also hosted theAll-Star Game on July 10.

Prior to the2013 Kansas City Royals season (during the offseason), the Royals donated over $4 million in funds raised during the2012 All-Star game for various projects in theKansas City area communities, including building two baseball facilities for disabled children.[1][2]

Alex Gordon signed a $37.5 million four-year deal with the Royals.

Jeremy Guthrie signed a $25 million three-year deal in November 2012 to stay with the Royals.
