The2010–11 Phoenix Suns season was the 43rd season for thePhoenix Suns of theNational Basketball Association (NBA). For the first time in eight seasons, the Suns were without the play ofpower forwardAmar'e Stoudemire, a 5-timeAll-Star and formerRookie of the Year who joined theNew York Knicks in the summer. The Suns tradedJason Richardson on December 18, 2010, as part of a trade that broughtVince Carter to the Suns.[1] On February 24, 2011, the Suns tradedGoran Dragić and the draft pick they got earlier from Orlando in exchange forAaron Brooks.Alvin Gentry was head coach and the Suns played their home games atUS Airways Center.

Amar'e Stoudemire opted out of his final year of his contract and became anunrestricted free agent. He was to be paid $17.7 million.[2] He later joined theNew York Knicks.

Channing Frye re-signed with Phoenix on a 5-year, $30 million contract on July 1. One day later, the Suns signed power forwardHakim Warrick to a 4-year, $16 million contract. At the same time, Phoenix ended up tradingLeandro Barbosa andDwayne Jones to theToronto Raptors in exchange forHedo Türkoğlu.
