The2009–10 football season wasBristol City's 112th season as a professional football club and third consecutive season in the second division. They competed in theFootball League Championship having finished in tenth position theprevious season. Bristol City were knocked out in the second round of theFootball League Cup againstCarlisle United.[1] They also entered theFA Cup in January 2010 at the third round stage, losing toCardiff City after a replay.[2]
