The2008–09 season of theNOFV-Oberliga was the first season of the league at tier five (V) of theGerman football league system after the introduction of the3. Liga inGermany.

The NOFV-Oberliga is split into two divisions, theNOFV-Oberliga Nord and theNOFV-Oberliga Süd. The champions of both divisions,Tennis Borussia Berlin andZFC Meuselwitz, were directly promoted to the 2009–10Regionalliga Nord.
