The2007 NCAA Division I baseball season play ofcollege baseball in the United States, organized by theNational Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at theDivision I level, began on January 25, 2007. The season progressed through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and concluded with the2007 NCAA Division I baseball tournament and2007 College World Series. The College World Series, which consisted of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA tournament, was held in its annual location ofOmaha, Nebraska, atRosenblatt Stadium. It concluded on June 24, 2007, with the final game of the best of three championship series.Oregon State defeatedNorth Carolina two games to none to claim their second consecutive championship, which was also their second overall.
Two programs,Central Arkansas andNJIT, moved fromDivision II toDivision I for the 2007 season.[3][4]
Birmingham–Southern, which had competed in theBig South Conference, dropped to theDivision IIISouthern Collegiate Athletic Conference for the 2007 season.St. Francis (NY) dropped its varsity intercollegiate baseball program following the 2006 season.[5]
TheSun Belt Conference added two members,Florida Atlantic from theAtlantic Sun Conference andLouisiana–Monroe from theSouthland Conference.[6]
The Southland added two members,Texas A&M–Corpus Christi (formerly aDivision I independent) andCentral Arkansas (formerly ofDivision II).[3][7]
Two schools becameDivision I independents–Chicago State, which moved from theMid-Continent Conference, andNJIT, which moved from Division II.[4][8]
TheSouthland Conference, whose membership changes left it with 12 baseball-sponsoring members, split into two six-team divisions.

The 2007 season marked the sixty first NCAA baseball tournament, which culminated with the eight teamCollege World Series. The College World Series was held inOmaha, Nebraska. The eight teams played a double-elimination format, withOregon State claiming their first championship with a two games to none series win overNorth Carolina in the final.
