The2006 MLS SuperDraft, held inPhiladelphia on January 20, 2006, was the seventh incarnation of the annualMajor League SoccerSuperDraft. The first selection originally belonged toChivas USA, but they traded it to theMetroStars for the fifth overall selection andJason Hernandez. The MetroStars then draftedMarvell Wynne. The draft was followed by the2006 MLS Supplemental Draft.

The draft has produced multipleUnited States men's national soccer team players, includingSacha Kljestan,Jozy Altidore (2nd round), andJonathan Bornstein (4th round).

Player selection

Chivas USA selectedSacha Kljestan 5th overall. The2016 MLS All-Star is a 2xMLS Best XI selection and earned 52 caps with theU.S. men's national team.
FC Dallas selectedDax McCarty 6th overall. He is a 2xMLS All-Star, a2015MLS Best XI selection and a member of the400 games played club. He earned 13 caps with theU.S. national team.
TheColumbus Crew selectedKei Kamara 9th overall. The 2xMLS All-Star is a2015MLS Best XI selection and won the 2015MLS Humanitarian of the Year. He is a member of both the100 goals club and400 games played club. He's earned 39 caps for theSierra Leone national team leading them to the2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
