It was the 32nd edition of theIndian Wells Open, and was part of theATP Masters Series of the2005 ATP Tour, and of theTier I Series of the2005 WTA Tour. Both the men's and the women's events took place at theIndian Wells Tennis Garden inIndian Wells, California, United States, from March 14 through March 20, 2005.
