The2003 Texas Tech Red Raiders football team representedTexas Tech University as a member of theBig 12 Conference during the2003 NCAA Division I-A football season. In their fourth season under head coachMike Leach, the Red Raiders compiled an 8–5 record (4–4 against Big 12 opponents), finished in fourth place in Southern Division of the Big 12, defeatedNavy in the2003 Houston Bowl, and outscored opponents by a combined total of 552 to 442.[1] The team played its home games atJones SBC Stadium inLubbock, Texas.

QuarterbackB. J. Symons totaled 5,833 passing yards and received theSammy Baugh Trophy,[1][2] andWes Welker totaled 1,099 receiving yards and received the Mosi Tatupu Award.[3]
