It was contested by 10 teams, andAl-Sadd won the championship.

For the first time, theQFA allocated each club with $10,000,000 to sign foreign players. As a result,Gabriel Batistuta,Pep Guardiola,Stefan Effenberg and others joined the league in the summer of 2003.[1]
