The race is best known for an incident involvingKevin Harvick andCoy Gibbs, in which Harvick spun Gibbs out after previous contact. NASCAR responded by parking Harvick for the rest of the race. In the post-race interview, Harvick claimed that he did not intentionally crash Gibbs despite radio transmissions stating otherwise. This resulted in Harvick being suspended from the cup race the next day.
