The1Xtra Chart is a discontinued weeklyrecord chart based on sales ofsingles in the United Kingdom. It listed the 40 biggest-sellingurban music songs released within a three-month time period,[1] and featured genres such aship hop,R&B,dancehall andrap.[2] The chart was compiled by theOfficial Charts Company (OCC) on behalf of the UK music industry, and each week's new number one was announced onThe 1Xtra Chart at 1 p.m. on Saturdays onBBC Radio 1Xtra.[3]Adele Roberts took over fromSarah-Jane Crawford in spring 2012, and it had been hosted byRonnie Herel until December 2010.[4] The chart was also listed on the official websites of both BBC Radio 1 and the OCC.
The 1Xtra Chart was launched during October 2007.[1] Its first number one was "Valerie" byMark Ronson featuringAmy Winehouse.[2]
