It was the 110th edition of theCanada Masters, and was part of theATP Super 9 of the1999 ATP Tour, and of theTier I Series of the1999 WTA Tour. The men's event took place at thedu Maurier Stadium inMontreal, Quebec, Canada, from August 2 through August 8, 1999, and the women's event at theNational Tennis Centre inToronto, Ontario, Canada, from August 16 through August 23, 1999.
