The1999 Utah Utes football team represented theUniversity of Utah as a member of the newly-formedMountain West Conference (MW) during the1998 NCAA Division I-A football season. Led by tenth-year head coachRon McBride, the Utes compiled an overall record of 9–3 with a mark of 5–2 in conference play, sharing the MW title withBYU andColorado State. Utah was invited to theLas Vegas Bowl, where the Utes defeatedFresno State. The team played home games atRice–Eccles Stadium inSalt Lake City.
