Jacco Eltingh andPaul Haarhuis were the defending champions. Eltingh chose not to participate. Haarhuis teamed up withJared Palmer, but they lost in the first round toAndrea Gaudenzi andDiego Nargiso.

Olivier Delaître andTim Henman won the title, by defeatingJiří Novák andDavid Rikl 6–2, 6–3 in the final.
