The1994 Penn State Nittany Lions football team represented thePennsylvania State University as a member of theBig Ten Conference during the1994 NCAA Division I-A football season. Led by 29th-year head coachJoe Paterno, the Nittany Lions compiled an overall record of 12–0 with a mark of 8–0 in conference play, winning the Big Ten title. Penn State earned a berth in theRose Bowl, where the Nittany Lions defeatedOregon. The team played home games atBeaver Stadium inUniversity Park, Pennsylvania.

Nebraska finished the season ranked atop both major polls, and was, thus, theconsensus national champion. Penn State was selected as national champion byDeVold,Eck Ratings System,Matthews Grid Ratings, andThe New York Times, and named co-champion byRothman (FACT),National Championship Foundation (NCF), and theSagarin Ratings.[1]
