The1993Pittsburgh Pirates season was the 112th in franchise history; the 107th in theNational League. This was their 24th season atThree Rivers Stadium. This season saw the three-time defendingNational League East champions fall to fifth place in the division with a 75–87 record. In the offseason, the National League expanded to 14 teams andBarry Bonds left the Pirates and signed with theSan Francisco Giants. This season was the first of the Pirates' record-setting twenty straight losing seasons.
