The1990 NCAA Division III football season, part of thecollege football season organized by theNCAA at theDivision III level in the United States, began in August 1990, and concluded with theNCAA Division III Football Championship, also known as theStagg Bowl, in December 1990 atHawkins Stadium inBradenton, Florida. TheAllegheny Gators won their first Division III championship by defeating theLycoming Warriors, 21−14, in overtime.[1]

The1990 NCAA Division III Football Championship playoffs were the 18th annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion of men'sNCAA Division III college football. The championshipStagg Bowl game was held atHawkins Stadium inBradenton, Florida for the first time. Like the previous five tournaments, this year's bracket featured sixteen teams.[2]
