The1990–91 NBA season was the 45th season of theNational Basketball Association. The season ended with theChicago Bulls winning their first NBA Championship, eliminating theLos Angeles Lakers 4 games to 1 in theNBA Finals.

This season would prove to beMagic Johnson's last full season as a player, as he announced he was HIV positive and retired early the following season (Johnson would play part of the1995–96 NBA season withthe Lakers before permanently retiring).
