The1987–88 A Group was the 40th season of theA Football Group, the top Bulgarian professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1948.[1] The championship was won byLevski Sofia, two points ahead ofCSKA Sofia.[2]Chernomorets Burgas andSpartak Pleven were relegated.
