The1986 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships (1986 WJHC) was the tenth edition of theIce Hockey World Junior Championship and was held from December 26, 1985, until January 4, 1986. It was held mainly inHamilton,Ontario,Canada. TheSoviet Union won the gold medal, its seventh championship, Canada won silver and theUnited States won bronze. The bronze was the first medal for the Americans in the tournament's history.
