1986 Australian Formula 2 Championship

The1986 Australian Formula 2 Championship was aCAMS sanctionedAustralian national motor racing title open toAustralian Formula 2 cars.[1] The title, which was the 19thAustralian Formula 2 Championship,[2] was won by Jonathan Crooke, driving aCheetah Mk.8Volkswagen.[3]

Points system

Points were awarded to the first 20 placegetters in each race as per the following table:[1]

  • Where a round was contested over two races, each driver's points were aggregated and then divided by the two to determine the championship points allocation for that round.[1]
  • Only the best eight round results counted towards a driver's total.[1]
