The1984 International Open (officially the1984 Jameson International Open) was a professionalrankingsnooker tournament that took place between 24 September to 7 October 1984 at the Eldon Square Recreation Centre inNewcastle-upon-Tyne, England.[1][2]

Eugene Hughes reached the semi-finals before losing 9–3 toSteve Davis. Hughes had beatenDoug Mountjoy,Ray Reardon andWillie Thorne to reach that stage.[3][4]

Defending championSteve Davis won the tournament, defeatingTony Knowles 9–2 in the final.[5][6]
