The1982NCAA Men's Division I Swimming and Diving Championships were contested in March 1982 at theSchroeder Swimming Center inBrown Deer, Wisconsin at the 59th annualNCAA-sanctioned swim meet to determine the team and individual national champions ofDivision I men's collegiateswimming anddiving in theUnited States.
UCLA topped the team standings for the first time; as of 2016, this remains the Bruins' only men's team title.
The inauguralNCAA Women's Division I Swimming and Diving Championships were held concurrently at theO'Connell Center at theUniversity of Florida inGainesville, Florida and were won by hostsFlorida. The men's and women's titles would not be held at the same site until2006.
