The1979Baltimore Coltsseason was the 27th season for the team in theNational Football League (NFL). Under fifth-year head coachTed Marchibroda, the Colts again finished with 5 wins and 11 losses, fifth in theAFCEast division.
With persistent shoulder problems, quarterbackBert Jones was sidelined; replaced by veteranGreg Landry, the Colts continued to struggle. Marchibroda was fired after the season in late December,[1][2] and succeeded byMike McCormack.[3]
