The1970 Wimbledon Championships was atennis tournament that took place on the outdoorgrass courts at theAll England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club inWimbledon, London, United Kingdom.[1][2] The tournament was held from Monday 22 June until Saturday 4 July 1970.[3] It was the 84th staging of theWimbledon Championships, and the thirdGrand Slam tennis event of 1970.[4]

Prize money

The total prize money for 1970 championships was £41,650. The winner of the men's title earned £3,000 while the women's singles champion earned £1.500.[5][6]
