The1970–71 season of theEuropean Cup Winners' Cupfootball club tournament was won byChelsea in a replay againstReal Madrid. Defending championsManchester City were eliminated by Chelsea in the semi-finals, only the second ever tie in the competition between two clubs from the same country. These two sides would later compete in the2021 UEFA Champions League final, with Chelsea winning 1-0. Thefinal was played inKaraiskakis Stadium inPiraeus,Greece.[1][2][3]
