The1960 Minnesota Secretary of State election was held on 8 November 1960 in order to elect theSecretary of State of Minnesota.Democratic–Farmer–Labor nominee andincumbent Secretary of StateJoseph L. Donovan defeatedRepublican nominee Kenneth O'Brien Joyce.[1]
On election day, 8 November 1960,Democratic–Farmer–Labor nomineeJoseph L. Donovan won re-election by a margin of 279,231 votes against his opponentRepublican nominee Kenneth O'Brien Joyce, thereby retaining Democratic–Farmer–Labor control over the office of Secretary of State. Donovan was sworn in for his fourth term on 3 January 1961.[2]
