The1958 Minnesota Secretary of State election was held on 4 November 1958 in order to elect theSecretary of State of Minnesota.Democratic–Farmer–Labor nominee andincumbent Secretary of StateJoseph L. Donovan defeatedRepublican nominee L. C. Andersen.[1]
On election day, 4 November 1958,Democratic–Farmer–Labor nomineeJoseph L. Donovan won re-election by a margin of 177,612 votes against his opponentRepublican nominee L. C. Andersen, thereby retaining Democratic–Farmer–Labor control over the office of Secretary of State. Donovan was sworn in for his third term on 5 January 1959.[2]
