The1958Kansas City Athletics season was the team's fourth inKansas City and the 58th in theAmerican League. The season involved the A's finishing seventh in theAmerican League with a record of 73 wins and 81 losses, 19 games behind theWorld Champion New York Yankees.

November 20, 1957:Billy Martin,Mickey McDermott,Tom Morgan,Lou Skizas,Tim Thompson, andGus Zernial were traded by the Athletics to theDetroit Tigers forBill Tuttle,Jim Small,Duke Maas,John Tsitouris,Frank House, andKent Hadley, and a player to be named later. The Tigers completed the deal by sendingJim McManus to the Athletics on April 3, 1958.^[1]
December 2, 1957:Harry Chiti was drafted by the Athletics from theNew York Yankees in the 1957rule 5 draft.^[2]
December 2, 1957:Ramón Conde was drafted by the Athletics from theSan Francisco Giants in the 1957 minor league draft.^[3]
