The1956 United States presidential election in Nebraska took place on November 6, 1956, as part of the1956 United States presidential election. Voters chose six[2] representatives, or electors, to theElectoral College, who voted forpresident andvice president.
Nebraska was won byincumbent PresidentDwight D. Eisenhower (R–Pennsylvania), running with Vice PresidentRichard Nixon, with 65.51% of the popular vote, againstAdlai Stevenson (D–Illinois), running withSenatorEstes Kefauver, with 34.49% of the popular vote.[3][4]
With 65.51% of the popular vote, Nebraska would prove to be Eisenhower's fourth strongest state afterVermont,Maine andNew Hampshire.[5]
