American college football season
The1956 Texas College Steers football team representedTexas College as a member of theSouthwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) during the1956 college football season. Led by first-year head coachG. O. Wright, the Steers compiled an overall record of 2–6–1, and a mark of 0–5–1 in conference play, and finished tied for sixth in the SWAC.
