The 1950New York Yankees season was the 48th season for the team. The team finished with a record of 98–56, winning their 17thpennant, finishing 3 games ahead of theDetroit Tigers. In theWorld Series, they defeated thePhiladelphia Phillies in 4 games. New York was managed byCasey Stengel. The Yankees played atYankee Stadium.

Following the season, they were named "Team of the Year",amateur orprofessional, by theAssociated Press.[1]
