The1948 United States presidential election in Oregon took place on November 2, 1948, as part of the1948 United States presidential election. Voters chose six[2] representatives, or electors, to theElectoral College, who voted forpresident andvice president.

Oregon was won byGovernorThomas E. Dewey (RNew York), running withGovernorEarl Warren, with 49.78% of the popular vote, againstincumbent PresidentHarry S. Truman (DMissouri), running withSenatorAlben W. Barkley, with 46.40% of the popular vote.[3][4]

Dewey's victory was the first of four consecutive Republican victories in the state, as Oregon would not vote Democratic again untilLyndon B. Johnson’s1964 landslide victory.

This was the last election until1988 in which Oregon andCalifornia did not vote for the same candidate and, as of2024, it has not happened again.
