The 1942USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships were organized by theAmateur Athletic Union (AAU) and served as thenational championships in outdoortrack and field for theUnited States.
The men's edition was held atDowning Stadium inNew York City, New York, and it took place 19–20 June. The women's meet was held separately atCarey Stadium inOcean City, New Jersey, on 4 July.
At the men's championships, only the pole vault andweight throw meet records were broken due toWorld War II.[1] The women's competition also suffered due togas rationing from the war, althoughStella Walsh won the maximum number of events in the 200 m, long jump, and discus throw.[2]
