The1940 Taça de Portugal final was the final match of the1939–40 Taça de Portugal, the 2nd season of theTaça de Portugal, the premier Portuguesefootball cup competition organized by thePortuguese Football Federation (FPF). The match was played on 7 July 1940 at theEstádio do Lumiar inLisbon, and opposed two Primeira Liga sides:Belenenses andBenfica. Benfica defeated Belenenses 3–1 to claim their first Taça de Portugal.[2]
