  • February 7: TheFelix the Cat cartoonThe Goose That Laid the Golden Egg premieres. This marks the first Felix cartoon since 1930'sTee Time and the first without Felix's original creatorPat Sullivan as he died ofalcoholism andpneumonia in 1933.[4] Felix's character was modified to a more child-like character due to the mandatedHays Office Code as his previous incarnation was consideredadult.[5] This incarnation was not well-received as theFelix the Cat film series ended afterBold King Cole three months later.
