The1936 United States Senate election in Kansas took place on November 3, 1936. Incumbent Republican SenatorArthur Capper ran for re-election to a fourth term. He was challenged by formerWichita Mayor Omar Ketchum, the1934 Democratic nominee for Governor. Even though Kansas GovernorAlf Landon was the Republican nominee against PresidentFranklin D. Roosevelt in the1936 presidential election, Roosevelt won Kansas by awide margin over Landon, and Capper only narrowly defeated Ketchum.
