The 1936New York Yankees season was the team's 34th season. The team finished with a record of 102–51, winning their eighthpennant, finishing 19.5 games ahead of theDetroit Tigers. New York was managed byJoe McCarthy. The Yankees played atYankee Stadium. In theWorld Series, they defeated theNew York Giants in 6 games. After a 20-year absence, the "NY" logo returned to the front of the home jerseys where it has remained ever since.
